We believe that the Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God. We believe in the plenary verbal inspiration of the Bible. We believe that the Bible has been preserved throughout the ages. We believe the canon of Scripture to be closed. We believe the Bible to be the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. We believe the Bible to be the rule book for everyday life.
We believe there is one and only one living and true God, and infinite Spirit, the Maker and supreme Ruler of Heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons— the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each of these three are equal in every divine perfection and execute distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. We believe that God reveals Himself through general and special revelation. We believe that God has both moral and natural attributes that distinguish Him from all other gods.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the second person of the Godhead— God the Son. We believe that Jesus is just as much God as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. We believe He has no beginning and no ending. We believe that He made several pre-incarnate appearances in the Old Testament. We believe that He was born of a virgin and He lived a perfect, sinless life. We believe that He did not give up His deity when He came to earth, but rather clothed His deity in humanity. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Great Prophet, Priest, and King. We believe that Christ’s earthly ministry lasted for three and a half years and it culminated with His death, burial, and resurrection. We believe that He made the substitutionary atonement for all of mankind. After His resurrection, He was on earth for forty days and then He ascended up into Heaven. He is now on the right hand of the throne of God.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with God the Father and God the Son of the same nature. We believe that He was active in creation. We believe that, in His relation to the unbelieving world, He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that He bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the Agent in the new birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer.
We believe that man was created by God in His image. We believe that man was created as a trichotomy with a body, soul, and spirit. We believe that man was created with a free will and for the express purpose of God’s pleasure. We believe that man was created in innocence under the law of God, but by voluntary transgression Adam fell from his sinless and happy state, and all men sinned in him, in consequence of which all men are totally depraved, are partakers of Adam’s fallen nature, and are sinners by nature and by conduct, and therefore are under just condemnation without defense or excuse. We believe that God created the institution of marriage for man and that man is meant to have a woman as his help meet. We believe that God created marriage to last a lifetime.
We believe that sin originated in the depths of Satan’s heart. We believe that sin on earth originated when Adam disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. We believe that sin is a direct violation of God’s character. We believe that every person has a sin nature and that it was imputed unto them by the sin of Adam. We believe that the sin nature is what makes man spiritually separated from God. We believe that penalty for sin is death and that penalty must be paid.
We believe that the free gift of salvation is for all men. We believe that the salvation of sinners is divinely initiated and wholly of grace through the mediatorial offices of Christ, Who by the appointment of the Father, voluntarily and substitutionally took upon Himself our sinful nature, yet without sin, and by the shedding of His blood in His death He fully satisfied the just demands of a holy and righteous God regarding sin. We believe that a man once realizing His sinful state must repent of his unbelief and turn to the Gospel (the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ) in faith; and thus doing so he is justified by God, made a new creature, sanctified unto righteousness, and given the promise of God to dwell with Him in Heaven in a glorified state. I believe that this salvation can never be removed from the believer, and that the believer has the ability to know that these promises of salvation have and will come to fruition.
We believe that a local church is an organized congregation of immersed believers, associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel. We believe the church observes the ordinances of Christ, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and is governed by His laws. We believe the church exercises the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word. We believe that the officers of the church are pastors and deacons, whose qualifications, claims, and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures. We believe that the true mission of the church is the faithful witnessing of Christ to all men as we have opportunity. We believe that the local church has the absolute right of self-government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations and that the one and only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit. We believe that it is scriptural for true churches to cooperate with each other in contending for the faith and for the furtherance of the Gospel. We believe that each local church is the sole judge of the measure and method of its cooperation. We believe that on all matters of church membership, polity, government, discipline, and benevolence, the will of the local church is final. We believe in the unity of all New Testament believers in the Church which is the Body of Christ.
We believe that angels are created beings of God. We believe that this innumerable host was divided by a revolt led by one of the chief angels, Lucifer. We believe in the reality and personality of Satan. We believe that he was created by God as an angel but through pride and rebellion became the enemy of his Creator. We believe that he became the unholy god of this age and the ruler of all the powers of darkness. We believe that the angels that rebelled with Satan are demons who are at work in the world today attempting to keep men from Christ. We believe that Satan and the demons will all be eternally judged in the lake of fire.
We believe in the premillennial return of Christ, in which the dead in Christ shall be raised in glorified bodies, and living in Christ shall be given glorified bodies without tasting death. We believe that this return will happen before the seven years of the Tribulation in which God will judge Israel and the world for rejecting Him. We believe that the Tribulation will end with the Second Coming of Christ to earth to establish His millennial kingdom and after this reign He will conquer Satan once and for all. We believe in two judgments: the Judgment Seat of Christ, in which Christians will be judged and given rewards according to their works; and the Great White Throne Judgement, in which the unsaved will be judged for rejecting Christ. We believe in a literal hell as well as in a literal Heaven.
